The Jersey

The boys had so much for Friday’s Homecoming for our town schools. It was red and black day and the kids were excited for wearing their school colors. I couldn’t believe my ears when my oldest said he was going to wear his football jersey to school on Friday. October_0134

I mean, wait just a second. Wear a football jersey to school… on a Friday? I’m totally flashing back to when I was in school and all the football players wore their jerseys on Fridays. But my son? Wait just a second.

I feel like I blinked and he is growing up so fast. What’s with that anyway? Sometimes I look at him and I see the little boy he used to be.

Then sometimes I look at him and see the nice young man he is turning into.

I might as well count down the days until I hand him the car keys.

And I’ll enjoy every single one of them!

awww...yes he is turning into such a big boy, but he will always be your little boy! I have to say I like the colors of your school...red looks good on your boys. Loved how the little guy got in on the school spirit too.

Isn't it scary how fast they grow up? I remember being the same age as my older boys, like I have some very vivid memories of when I was their age and it scares me because I remember thinking my mom knew everything and now that I am the mom I realize she was probably bumbling her way through parenthood just like I do!

Carin,

UMMMM... that is the sentiment I face everyday. And I always want to be happy about it.. them growing into great people... but the growing part and the remembering part always gets in the way.

That is funny, though. I remember everyone wearing their jerseys to school to support the team on Fridays when I was a teenager. Who said, ..."the more things change, the more they stay the same?"
