Would chocolate help?

I usually handle stress pretty good. Most of the time. However, this is the first time I have encountered this particular stress: Trying to move, during Christmas and the New Year. I have been told that moving is one of the most stressful things a person can do. Closely following that is a new baby or pregnancy. Hmmmm, No I am NOT pregnant, but I do have a little one.

Little Man is still sick. I feel so bad for him. Okay, let's face it. I feel bad for me too. Sorry, I said it out loud, but what can I do. He is so clingy, though I do like clingy since in a house full of boys it's mostly just wrestling around here. He is soooo clingy though. I can't get a single thing done around here. I know, I know, that's not a bad thing. But I did choose to stay awake until midnight last night so I could get some cleaning done. Doesn't everyone clean late into the night?

I have even taken him into the bathroom with me. I feel bad to hear his pitiful cry so it's just easier to take him everywhere with me.

Not that his cry is really loud, it's just the opposite. He has completely lost his voice and so crying sounds something like a muffled duck quaking. Don't ask. I can barely hear him crying on the monitor during the night because he can't make very much noise. The wheezing seems to be getting worse though. When I went to the doctor on Sunday he said the croup usually clears in three days. Well, we are now on day FIVE.

With all of this stress would chocolate help?

Oh, and back to the moving stress. We do have help from his company for relocating but I have to make choices as to what I think is the best choice for our family and situation. I spoke with someone Monday who recommended I choose Choice #1. She couldn't answer all of my questions so she referred me to someone else. That person called today from DC and said she would strongly recommend Choice #2 in our situation. Problem is Lineman already filled out the paperwork for Choice #1. Ugh. You know I'm not good at making decisions. So I finally make a decision and it might be the wrong one. Apparently this is a lesson in faith for me.

With all of this stress would chocolate help?

We are also trying to put in an offer on a small piece of property in the town we will move to. It seems that the price is now higher than what it was originally. Hmmm, that's awfully convenient, isn't it? The realtor kept asking if we wanted one of the houses she showed us. Hmmm, incidentally it was the most expensive house they had. I told her it was not in our price range but she wanted to show it anyway. When I told her we were going to put an offer in on the land she was trying to pursuade me to put an offer in on that house. Hmmmm, maybe I should get her hearing aids for a Christmas present. There really isn't much for real estate there so I think she needs a good sale and a little acreage probably isn't what she would like to sell right now.

So, I keep thinking. With all of this stress, would chocolate help?

I don't have any chocolate in the house right now so I guess I will just have to adore these little cheeks for now.

well, IMO anyway! But those chubby little cheeks & blue eyes ought to help! Sorry he's still sick. My kids were always more clingy when I was trying to get something done. Packing/moving/convention/cleaning frantically for company....

Awe...don't kids just tare your heart out sometimes...and make you want to pull your hair out at the same time. So sorry to hear Little Man is still sick. Chocolate always helps me in stressful situations. And the moving situation...no fun I know. We moved Thanksgiving week last year. Chocolate always helps me in stressful situations. About making decisions...chocolate always helps me in stressful situations. I'd come help you...but TX is a bit far away to come up for the day. So...Chocolate always helps me in stressful situations.

Yes chocolate will help. Especially the Dove Milk Chocolate ones. My mouth is watering just thinking about those tasty morsels.

Awww - the heart strings are tugged! I'm so sorry he's still sick - croup/asthma - are really rough! to the point of scary! and moving - I'm just not good at it - so you have my sympathy although that's not worth much! Too bad hubby isn't there for a hug! Hope it takes place soon so you can get settled again. Sending chocolate for the stash!

I will buy you a big 'ol bag of chocolate when I get home!! If we are already stressing then I might need to buy a bag for each day....but then.....I suppose we will both be stressing about having to go to the gym to work off the chocolate, and then because we are stressing we will need more chocolate which will mean more time at the gym which will...well I guess you get the idea?
Life just ain't right is it???

Poor baby. Just let him cling, he's growing up fast! And while you're packing tuck some chocolate in the boxes so that you'll have a treat when you start unpacking.

Oh, I hope your little man feels better. I do feel for ya...this is a terrible time of the year to move. I moved last December from Maine to NY and I HATE moving. Chocolate is my key to a normal existence. I definitely recommend it!

If chocolate doesn't do the trick how about.....you guessed it....SUGAR COOKIES...WITH FROSTING ....AND WITH SPRINKLES! Now I know that will lift your spirits. I know you have so much to do and so many decisions to make so why not do both chocolate and sugar cookies. By the way tell the little man that gramma is in total sympathy with him. I still have NO voice after 5 days. Fortunately I'm feeling pretty good, but no voice at all. What kind of a bug did the middle man pass on to us?? m-b

I feel for you Carin. I agree with the "putting chocolate in the boxes as you pack" except some of my boxes have not been unpacked for years! :) I'm partial to fresh chocolate and realllllly dark! I wish I could express some out to you.

Jocelyn had asthma and I couldn't tell you how many nights I sat out on the porch in the cold with her because that's all that helped. I guess with most asthmatics it's not a good thing but it sure helped her! Hopefully he gets over his croup soon! Good luck. Myrna

Carin, I wish I had time to come bring you some chocolates and just keep you company for a while! Sick kids were never fun because you didn't always know what they needed. Good luck. Linda

I wish you were not moving!!! I want you to take our family pictures. I am also going to look into the camera information your posted for me after I saw your beautiful pictures. :) We will be thinking about you during your move, and sometimes I just have to tell myself when my kids are sick or screaming that someday I will MISS THIS!
