When our Little Man turned two we got him a sweet new pair of hockey skates. I wish you could see just how stinkin’ cute and small these things are.First it was practicing at home, just walking around on the carpet. He loved this part. He probably walked around for half an hour.
When we got to the rink he was so excited, okay, so was I! After we got everyone all laced up it was time to hit the ice.
It was not easy at first. We tried to help him hold on to the skate helpers. Then Lineman took him around without the helper. Nothing like torturing your back.
Another attempt with the skate helper and it wasn’t going all that easy. So we decided to take a little break.
After a short break I took Little Man back out there and just let him stand. Then we got the skate helper and……
He figured out what it was about! I’m not saying he was going great guns, but he figured it out. He could push himself around and I was truly shocked!
Only one year after learning how to walk he is figuring out how to make his way on the ice. And in the mean time I can’t get over how stinkin’ cute those teeny tiny skates are.

Oh my..I love it!!!!!!!
What a natural!
He (and the skates) are adorable! Looks like you all had a blast!
They are so cute. You can make those ornaments when he's outgrown them. I think we're going skating this weekend (a first for 2 of my kids, I hope they take to the ice as well as your guy). PS: Now I'm singing that song!
I LOVE the picture of little man and lineman's skates. Too cute!! A great post Carin!
Oh and I love the ice on his little wranglers!

Too, too cute! Stinkin' cute!!
That is how I felt about Stunt Mans first baseball cleats. So cute. He is adorable on the ice. What a cutie. I want to just squeeze him. Would that be OK?
You probably don't remember, but you were skiing at 2. Runs in the family...

I completely agree..STINKIN' cute...both the skates and the little guy. You are such a fun family!

Dear Ice Ice Mama,
Here's the Soundtrack for your day.
Alright, stop/ hold your baby and listen/ You have him for a moment besides the best intentions/ Mama, grab a hold of him tightly/ Time is flowing, daily and nightly/ Will it ever stop?/ When? We don't know/ careful, don't blink, he'll grow/ To the extreme he rockes those skates like a pro/ Light up the ice and watch the boy go/ Crash! Go rush to the boy that went boom/ for kisses from mom he'd better have room/ breathtaking, when he plays like the big boys/ copying their moves and sharing their joys/ Love it or hate it, you better learn, hey/ You better hold on while the kid can't say/ If there's a problem, yo, mom's can solve it/ check out the rink as the baby revolves it/ Ice Ice Baby/ Ice Ice Baby.

How cute! Wish my kids and I knew how to ice skate.
How cute! The closest ice rink to us is about an hour away!
Those are the cutest skates I have ever seen. I did not know they made them that small.

Good comment by "Cy"...yep you had your first pair of skies on at 2...and...you were riding a chairlift at 3!! Start 'em young when they are fearless...and hardly any distance to fall.
WOW! PRECIOUS! I am actually considering trying to ice skate for the first time tomorrow. I am very nervous, do they have those skate helpers for adults? So glad you shared what a neat experience!
That 2nd to last picture sums it all up! Look at his face!! too cute!
There's entirely too much cuteness going on in this post. I may have to report it! LOL.
Blessings,
Kim
