Away Games

Saturday it was an early morning as we got up early and made our way to Havre, about 3 hours away. Each of the boys had double header games. We were all excited for the first away game and a change of scenery.

hockey weekend 1 This is looking back over our shoulder as the sun began to rise behind us.

Hockey Weekend 2The snow and the pink clouds made getting up early on the weekend worth it.

Hockey Weekend 3We passed many neat old buildings. We never did slow down so I had to be quick with the camera!

hockey weekend 4 I love these old elevators up here on the “high line”.

hockey weekend 5 We got to the rink with plenty of time to get the kids ready and have some ice time before the start. We are the black and red team, Go Ice Dawgs!!!

hockey weekend 6 They played half ice games at the same time, so we were watching two games simultaneously. That’s our middle boy in the red helmet in the center.

hockey weekend 7 Our oldest son going 3 on 1. You can do it!

hockey weekend 8 Our middle son again, he had a really great game. It was pretty high scoring on the Ice Dawgs side.

hockey weekend 9 He really took to playing another team, I think he is a bit competitive.

hockey weekend 10 Our older son had a great game too. He had several great moves and we were super proud of him. Check out his socks there. We really do have matching socks for him, but ever since he saw the varsity team play with different socks he hasn’t matched since.

hockey weekend 11Our middle boy here. The game had it’s minor take downs even though they can’t check at this age group.

All in all is was an awesome experience for our very first out of town game. Lineman’s parents met us in Havre so we got to see them also! We had lunch with them in between the two double header games. Then after the games we did a little shopping. It was funny because we ran into many people from our hockey team. Everyone was anxious to do some shopping since we were all out of or little town for the day.

I can’t wait to do it all again!

Boy do those pics and your story bring back memories. My two older boys both played hockey. We had 4am practices and late night practices and freezing cold practices and long practices, and you know the story... It was a blast and worth every minute. My oldest played for the Jr. Kings and we travelled all over Canada for that team. Many cold mornings. You got great shots.

Looked like a great way to spend a Saturday...watching two sons at once..now that takes talent. ;-)

About the color of your sky...when we would ask our dad what his favorite color was, he always replied, "Sky-blue-pink"...I think you have to have seen a MT sky to understand just what that color looks like.
