This is a juvenile Bald Eagle. It takes the Bald about 5 years to become mature when his head and tail feathers finally turn white. The picture doesn’t do this guy justice. He was massive and I spotted him a good mile away.

Wow. That looks amazing. Your pictures are just FAB!
Beautiful. That is so awesome that you get to see them so much.
I must say you do have the knack for taking great photos.
what kind of camera do you use?
have a great day.
Your camera would make him look a lot better than mine. For some reason we have only see just a few eagles this year, when we usually see a good number. Did they all head to MT...they know how good MT is too, huh?
Beautiful picture Carin!
wow! awesome. One of my "goals" for this year is to work on my photography. I've missed it!
Wow! That is amazing. What a regal bird.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing a part of your world with us!
I'm so jealous that you see them almost daily! I didn't know they don't get "bald" until they are 5 years old. Learn something new every day!
The Cotton Husband gets balder by the day. I think it's related to getting a wife and four children in a short order. :)
Wow!!! Beautiful!!!
Great picture - of the young 'un -- they grow up to be so beautiful!
Over the holidays, while driving, my mom and I saw around 6 juvenile eagles and a few adults all in two trees! It was kind of weird, but really amazing!
