Making it count

Now that we are somewhat settled after our move things have gotten back to the old routine. That is, Lineman has to go to work out of town. However, his current job site is actually close enough he can.... wait for it......

..... actually come home for a good weekend. Who would have imagined!

So what do we do on the weekends? We make 'em count, that's what we do! This was how we spent part of this last weekend. All the boys fishing, it's a wonderful thing.
Our still-black-eyed-boy has been asking his dad for a very long time to go fishing. He is certainly getting his chance lately!

The Little Man even enjoys this time. It's a rare occasion for him to sit still. He sat and played with a collapsible rod and a bobber for almost half an hour.

Last but not least our middle wild child who never stops going was quite content to sit quietly awaiting a nibble.

There wasn't a single fish caught this day but it didn't matter one bit. What mattered was that we made the best of the time we do have together.

awe...how sweet is that! It makes my heart happy that "Daddy" got to be home and spend some quailty time with his best little men. We went fishing this weekend also...2 tiny fish were caught, but like y'all, it didn't really matter. What mattered was the company we were with. Big TX hugs to all of you.

A good day fishing doesn't always mean catching fish does it! So glad you had a great day together. Have a great week Carin and family!

Can I just say again how happy I am for your family! You do have to make every minute count. You got some beautiful pictures that day. Yeah for family time!

As they say, "My worst day fishin is better than my best day at work!!" The company I had this day only makes it better!

I do have to say that I don't get much fishing time in when I'm busy casting and baiting!!!! :) I look forward to the day that we all go fishin and its every man for himself, and I'll help Momma, she's a lot less maintenance!!

Good times though!!

How great that Dad gets to spend more quality time with his boys. Fish keeps telling his Dad that they should go "fishing sometime." I think I will tag along and take some fun pictures too. ;)

HI, this is my first time to your blog! I have been enjoying myself looking at your back posts.....My DH is also a lineman. He works for Moon Lake Electric out of Roosevelt Utah. We don’t live in town, but out on a farm between towns. (I love living in the sticks!)
I am curious about your lineman’s work schedule....I would really dislike having my DH gone as much as yours is. My SIL and #3 son work away, & they have spent the last 9 months or so in MO. They are in Wy. now, and it is hard for my daughter to be alone. She has 3 little boys, and is expecting a new baby. But she lives only a couple of miles over the lane from us so she is not alone alone. You take beautiful pitcures!

BTW, I have played on "a Thing" before. But, I am older....ish! You should try to get it for your yard if you can! LOL
Have a good one! ♥

Great pictures and post!! I love to fish. I still go with my Gma to her creek and fish with bamboo poles. Nothing better.

Carin it's starting to get really scary how much alike we are.....I also was #13 up until my Senior year when we got new uniforms and the #13 was an XS. Didn't fit this L chick! But Lucky 13 is still my number.

It is so nice when you can find family time.
Great shots of the boys.
I remember taking our 3 sons fishing and we also had a wild child and sitting was not his cup of tea.
thanks for the memories.
God bless

I still remember those times when I went fishing with my dad - all these years later. The boys will cherish the memories.

It brings a tear...
