Saturday Scenery

We took a drive the other evening to this wonderful spot on the lake.
The boys all had a blast throwing rocks into the lake.

It was Little Man's first time to the lake but he didn't need too many lessons to get it figured out.

We took our dog, Koda, too. He pretty much goes everywhere with us now. He chased and chased and chased the rocks we were throwing and skipping. Make no mistake, this water is cold! Of course he liked to run ashore and shake right next to a person. So thoughtful.

He went bounding after a rock and ran right out onto the ice. It cracked and broke apart into a very heavy type of slush. For a minute he looked like he wouldn't be able to free himself. Sure enough he gave it more try and pulled himself out. That put an end to our lake fun but we are headed back soon!

Wow looks so very beautiful. Great to have some family time!
I remember we went to Montana once and visited Flat Head lake that was beautiful!

Wow, the area is very pretty, the water is gorgeous with the sun's reflection. I am surprised to see such flat areas as I always imagined Montana to be mountainous... in a way that my area was. We have no lakes such as this and no flat lands.
What beautiful photos.

The simple things like just throwning a rock in the lake, are truly the most precious times in life.

Beautiful pics! As I was looking at them, I was thinking how still and calm the water looked. I didn't realize until I read further that a portion of it was ice...which I guess explains why it was so peaceful (well, except for the splashing rocks!).
