Thankfully it's not something you eat. All I can say is they REALLY liked and and they REALLY want me to make another one soon.
Are you wondering what it is yet? Are you wondering if I will tell you how to make it?
First off you are going to need this ONE ingredient:
SNOW
To be more precise you need fresh snow with NO tracks in it. Or hardly any tracks. Go out and with your feet you are going to shuffle around making a big circle. Then go and cut in the pie pieces..... It will look like this.......
Then you are going to need the "Fox" which is the person who is it....
And you will need the "Goose", the person the Fox is trying to catch.
The Fox and the Goose must stay on the lines of the pie. If they go too far out it's not fair. And if the Goose goes too far out of the lines he is then the Fox. Once the Fox catches a Goose, the Goose is then the Fox.
And let me tell you I was the Fox and I was the Goose numerous times on this day. Whew, I was so exhausted I almost threw up. Seriously! I know you did not want to hear that but its true, this is some serious exercise!
You can make the pie much bigger if you want. Depends on the number of people and I suppose the age of the pie goers. Also, you could make an inner circle for the little ones, call it a "safe zone" if they need a rest.
Now that you have the recipe.....go make and Fox and Goose Pie!

What a cool idea! Did you make this up? I can't wait for it to snow again. Uh, yeah right. Maybe next year :)
How fun! Maybe I can play it at the beach with my boys? If there is one thing we do not have it's snow!
My Grandma taught us this game when we were little. When she was in school way back when they had a huge circle and two foxes since there was so many kids playing.
I would like to make one, but we have no snow! :(
Carolee - a friend and elder from Sunday morning taught us this, he played it when he was a kid in school.
Carrielt - I bet you had so much fun, as did your Grandma. What a great idea to have a HUGE circle and TWO foxes! So fun... and exhausting =)
Wow! That is so neat and fun! I've never heard of such a thing! I think we're done with snow for the season though, at least I'm hoping! If we do get some, we'll definitely try this out!
I knew there was a reason that I wanted ONE more snowfall. My kids would have a ball with this game...bring on the snow!!! Looks like you were having a great time.
How fun...Great way to play outside and stay warm at the same time. I will have to try it.
Huckleberry pie...peach pie....rhubarb pie....apple pie...and now FOX AND GOOSE PIE! Sign me up for some tasty FUN!
What a rockin' mom you are.

Looks like fun...'cept we won't be having pie of that variety 'round these parts. It's been like 20 years or so since it snowed here. ;)
Carin, I had forgot about that childhood game. Thanks for the reminder....maybe the grands would like to run of energy playing Fox and Goose. Linda
Carin, your a pretty awesome mom! I am glad you taught them this. It sounded fun when we were told how to do it.

What a fun game and exellent idea!
Great idea! Looks like it would be lots of fun.
I remember playing that game. My boys used to play it also and it is good exercise. I could not do it today.lol
We are getting snow now and we had ice through the night and it is -3 right now. Where did the warmth go?
God bless
Oh, how fun! Too bad we never see snow down here. Though, I guess we could do this on the driveway with sidewalk chalk. :) Thanks for sharing!
I would love to play this game, it looks and sounds like tons of fun! There is just one small little problem......WE NEVER HAVE SNOW!!!!!
Jill (Sneaky Momma), you have a great idea, you certainly could use sidewalk chalk. Great for those that don't get snow.
We always played this as kids! But our kids don't have a clue - never hardly ever enough snow - so we don't have the gear when there is!
Never heard of this before but then I never really played children's games. Looks like fun. I actually think I came across some kids one days in a field doing something like this... I wonder if that is what they were doing... lol
Hugs♥
You are such a cool Momma, Carin. It looked like you were having too much fun! That's not allowed. I might try this with the lawn mower. Not chasing them with it, just mowing the circle out with it! Thanks for the idea.
CheesyChick- Great idea with the lawnmower! Chasing them with it... you're too funny!
That game looks fun. I bet you could play it at the beach this summer!
Great idea Mazz, let's do that!
