*A post not for the queasy*
The eyes I was looking at late last night sure did not resemble these eyes below... It was a rough night to say the least. He had gotten sick last night without me knowing it.... or him for that matter. Confused? The two older boys have a way of sleeping VERY hard. The older one sleepwalks all the time and the middle boy talks in his sleep all the time, loudly too!
I guess that's sort of what happened last night. He had gotten sick in bed and unfortunately he was sleep-puking (sorry for the made up, gross term). When I went in to check on him I felt absolutely awful for him as he lay there asleep. I started to strip his bedding while he began to wake up. I convinced him to take a shower where he got sick once again. I got the bedding changed and then helped him out of the shower.
Then he says to me "Thank you, Momma. Thank you, Momma". These little words meant so much to me to hear. When he was two and a half (and I was hugely pregnant with the middle boy) he had been sick. He walked around the house not knowing what to do. I did the best nursing I could do and then this little, caring, sick boy says to me "Tank you, Momma, tank you, tank you Momma, I love you". This boy is something else. I'll try to remember that when he's a teenager
I crawled back into bed only to not be able to fall asleep. I hate when that happens.
Please excuse me now, I must do more laundry....

Oohhh! Sorry for the sickies! (and those who deal with it!!!)
Don't those "thank-you's" from our kids get you every time!! And yes, hold on tight to them! But my guess is you'll keep getting them when they're teens too.
ohhh...I know it's aweful when your kids are sick and there's nothing you can do for them to make it all better...it sounds like you're raising some good little men though. Maybe you can get some rest today? ;)
Ahhhh.....Hugs for you both and hope he is soon better - so you can get some much needed shut eye! (Been there done that - you have our heartfelt sympathies) Maybe I'll just share something I do for my kids - our youngest has acid reflux so it's not uncommon for him to be woke up by vomiting - we keep a bucket by his bed but the first time NEVER makes it there and sometimes later it doesn't either cause he's asleep. Usually after the first time I put a big THICK towel down over their pillow and as much other area as I can cover so it's not quite as much laundry then when they're better wash all the bedding again.
As for the teenagers - we would have to say we enjoy this stage as much as each of the previous and I'm betting with such sweeties you will too!!
Poor guy!
With those blue eyes he's gonna have many girls chasing him when he's a teenager!
thank you all for your kind thoughts. jklmnop, thanks for the advice, and maybe kids getting sick in their sleep is not that uncommon? Wishing you well with your youngest as well, I'm sure it's tough dealing with acid reflux on a regular basis.
What a special, loving mama you are. Those little fellas need you and love you so much. Take it easy today. M-B
P.S. Aren't you glad you have a super-duper washing machine!
I hope he is feeling a lot better now, what a sweet little boy you have!
I remember waking my 8 year old up for school and hearing, "I can't move." Sure, right, now get up and get ready for school.
After going to every specialist in the area and worring all night more than once, the movement came back in about a week (they never did figure out what it was). You worry about your kids because you love them soooooo much. Keep up the good mothering...

I saw your comment on Pioneer Woman after I left one very similar to it! We went through this last week. My girls bug was so bad it lasted for a week! He wake up time was 5 am and everyone but her ended up staying up. Who can go back to sleep after cleaning a mattress that I forget to put the plastic cover on, starting a load of blankets and towels and showering a child? Hope your son recovers soon!
I feel terrible for you and him. Throwing up is something I cannot handle and my youngest is a puker. Some get cold, ear infection, whatever...she pukes. It's not pretty.
How wonderful that even in his sick state he said "thank you". That's so sweet.
Aww... poor little guy... I sure hope he's doing better now.
Incredible that he says "thank you" even when he's feeling so miserable.
But then I can understand, really... when I'm feeling so sick, and I do often (sigh), I will make sure to say "thank yous" and "pleases" and make sure the other person is more comfortable with the situation before thinking about myself as well...
You are a good Mommy!!
Thanks Carin for the nice comment on my other blog today...

Like I always say, it'll feel better just as soon as it quits hurtin'!!!!
The problem is that our oldest has heard that so many times from us. There are so many kids that have a lot worse issues to deal with than him and we are thankful that he is such a healthy kid but when he was younger he sure fought being sick all of the time. It seems like once you see the kiddos wake up in the hospital nothing is ever the same.
Hope you feel better soon little man- Keep up the good work momma-

Poor little baby. So sweet. Does he feel better now? His eyes are nuts, amazing.
Maybe my contest will make you feel better over at my place?
I hope he's feeling much better now.
Carin, is it just me or is anyone else having trouble reading with the dark brown stripe down the left? Hey, maybe it's my 'old eyes'. Ha!
I don't have any problem reading the blog, no brown stripe except off the edge of the page where there's no words.
Does anybody else have problems reading the text?
Sounds like your doing a good job with that sweet little man of yours, Carin. I'm sorry he is sick...hopefully he is better and I do hope that the rest of you don't get it!! Linda
Aw shucks what a bummer! Hope tonight is better poor little kid gramma
I have thought that moving it over a bit off the pretty browns into the golds would make it easier to read. Is he feeling better?
luv the baby blues bridger:kasey
