On Voting and Long Lines

I was one of the millions of people who cast their vote yesterday. I understand there were extremely long lines for some people and that they had to wait at their polling locations for a long time to cast their vote. Well, I guess it wasn't that way at every polling location......
This is where I cast my vote, a country church a few miles from where we live. When I arrived there were these 6 vehicles already there. Three belonged to the women working the polls. Two of them were the Sheriff and an older gentleman just having coffee. And the last remaining car was ... wait for it.... an actual voter!
My time consisted of:
Waiting for them to located my name in their book: 15 seconds
Saying hi to the Sheriff: 30 seconds
Sheriff visiting with my middle boy: 1 minute 30 seconds
Casting my vote: 2 minutes
Getting stickers for me and my two punks: 30 seconds
Telling everyone to have a great day: 15 seconds
Total Time = 6 minutes
I may have to look up the words "Waiting in line" in the dictionary. There sure won't be a picture of my polling place next to it!

Wanted to say hi!
Your pictures are looking great!
and I love the caterpillars! My kids guessed now I am anxious to show them. Hugs to all.

Looks like the snow might finally be on its way.

There were really no long in my area either.
Love the photo of the church.
I like taking pictures of old churches in different towns.
Have a great day.

Wow! I doubt there were many places like yours yesterday. I live in a small town but still had to wait in line for 45 minutes, I got there around 10 am. So it wasn't the busiest time either.

I had an easy time of it myself. I have to admit, I was looking for a line, a broken voting machine, some complaints...anything that would make a great post. Nope! Easy peasy.

I was surprised that we had no waiting time. Considerably more people than there, but no line, and we went in the evening which is generally busier.

How perfect that you didn't have to wait since you had two of the munckins in tow. And a bonus for the middle punk to be able to chat with the sheriff. God bless America for our freedoms and the right to vote. M-B

just wanted to try to help you with the M in my photo... if you look at the wood ducks bill... at the top where his bill turns into his feathers there is a yellow line that makes an M... let me know if you find it!

That is great that you didn't have to wait like some people did...my inlaws took my poor dirty children from playing in the barn to the community center to vote. Thats what I get for being sick. Thanks for stopping by my blog...come back any time!

No line no waiting here either - but vote by mail is full of fraud so beware - there's a price to pay for easy! Thanks for your comment on my blog! I wouldn't say the election went the way I voted, but I don't think I feel blue about it! I am more curious to see how it goes! I'm not impressed with other countries thinking better of us because of this - because those countries are already a mess from being even more blue than we are (you have no idea what that's like - our city and state are so blue the kids have to be careful about expressing an opposing political opinion or pay the price - disrespect from teachers, lower grades, less help..... very unamerican and intolerant bunch!) I tho't it was more interesting that Russia immediately says they are reinstating their nuke weapons that were dismantled with NATO! I think it will be an interesting 4 or 8 years or more!

I didn't have to wait in line either, of course I voted two weeks ago when they first allowed early voting.

My inlaws voted on Tuesday and they said there was a 10-20 minute line.
