This is bold of me. This is daring of me. Pictures of...... pictures of...... of...... me. So here is what I am thinking. Just thinking at this point. I saw this done on another blog (sorry I don't remember where) and I was thinking of trying it myself. What this mom had done was to take a picture of her and one of her children every week for a full year. She made a very valid point. We as moms are always behind the camera taking pictures of our kids or whatever. We aren't comfortable in front of the camera. Our children are bound to grow up with no idea of what we looked like when they were little.
So here is what I am thinking of doing. Starting in the first week of January my post would be called 1 of 52 and then so on. However, I really need some accountability. That's where this blog comes in. If I tell you all I'm going to do it, then I had better do it. Right?
And here is what else I am asking. I think you, yes YOU, should do it too! Yeah, I really do. There are lots of ways to do this. Use a tripod. Use a timer. Use another kid to take a picture (my 4 year old took my picture the other day). Ask a stranger to take your picture. Just GET IN THE PICTURE.
Have I inspired you yet? You have 6 weeks to get used to the idea. It can be your New Years resolution as well as mine. We can all do it together.
Who thinks I'm crazy? Who thinks it's a good idea? Who wants to join me?

Oh you brave, daring soul!! Yes, it's a great idea....for you...LOL!!!
What a challenge!! My kids will seriously not know what I looked like. My DH doesn't use the camera & I have SO FEW of me & my kids. UGG I HATE pictures of me. But....6 weeks to get used to the idea, well....maybe I could THINK about it!
(can we wear our sun-glasses in all of them? LOL!)
I'm game. I know exactly what your saying. Never pictures of Mom but always pictures of the kids. Sounds fun and exciting. To see how many ways we can come up with to take our picture. And your such a great inspiration too. I'll also probably need held to the task.
Sounds great to me...I've got a million pictures of David with the kids, but maybe 2 with me. And it's the picturs of all 4 of us looking directly at the camera cheesing...not the fun kind like I get of David. I never like how I look in pictures so that's why I don't have more taken of me, but years down the road I bet the kids won't care that Mom didn't look just how she wanted, they'll just be glad to have pictures of her. Maybe??? ;)
Ummm - what about family pics thrown in there too? Just a thought. A while back - - Jay found a family pic of a family near hear - wealthy to top it off. He showed it to the son - parents are gone - his reply was I hardly have a picture of the 3 of us together - lots of me and mom or me and dad but not the 3 of us! Maybe you want to expand it! to a family pic one a month or 4 times a year??!!
That's a great idea! A lot of the blogs I read I know what everyone but the one posting looks like.
Great picture of you and the boys!
Great idea! Great photo! So sweet!
I gave you an award at my place and comment to win a Christmas plate;)
Great idea! I'm in. Oh, I forgot one thing. My kids will have to come in from Cheyenne and Milwaukee each week for the picture. I'm really looking forward to that!! yippie...

Cy, you're too funny. Kristen, yeah, they won't care what we hoped we looked like. I think I never like what I look like in pictures because I see so few picutes of myself. Maybe by week 48 I might get used to it.
I think you are all warped!!!!!
Once a year is enough pics of me because I usually get a bunch of grief for somebody snapping a pic of me doing soemthing I shouldn't be doing!

Hi, hopped over from Kate's blog (Country Girl). I love your idea of taking photos with your kids with you in them. I'm never in the picture. Now my kids are grown and rarely around. I need to get in front of the lens at Thanksgiving this year... Thanks for the reminder.
(you have some great photos on your blog!)
Great picture of you and the boys Carin. Great idea too. Myrna
I think this is a GREAT idea! You're so right...I have pictures of everyone but me. I'm always the picture taker. Nice to see YOU in this picture. I'll have to think about getting in on this idea.
I think it's an awesome idea, I am always behind the camera and I hate not having many pics of me with the kids, I love the few that I have!
BTW, I tagged you on my blog, if you want to check it out, go ahead, if not, that's fine too! =)
I love the idea. When I look at blogs I rarely see the Mother. I say go for it!! I always ask strangers to take pictures of us. I'll be watching for lots more of you in the new year. I agree, everyone should try it.
Blog hopping, and ended up on your's, and saw this post. What a great idea, and a good challenge.
