This is our first major tournament for our hockey players. Our mites had 3 games today. We’re hanging out with my sister in law and family since they live here. Lots of fun and the boys are having fun playing with their cousins and bugging their aunt and uncle. Good times for sure! One last game tomorrow and we are heading home.

Celebrate and smile
We celebrated my middle sons birthday on Friday night at home, just a quiet night and a little Toss Across. Then Saturday it was a party at the bowling alley. Lots of fun, but the best part? Seeing that wonderful smile!

Shoot Me! 4 of 52
Monday the roads were closed going to town, the busses weren’t running and that meant one thing…. SNOW DAY! We spent a few hours on the sledding hill. Yes, that’s when Little Man fell asleep, thus he is not in this picture. Fun times! Can’t wait for the next SNOW DAY!
Shoot Me! It's time to stop hiding behind that camera of yours. Your family is missing you in the picture. So it's time to post a picture of YOU (yes, you) every Thursday with your child, your spouse, your friend, your dog, or even by yourself. Just get in the picture, you'll be glad you did! And just jump in now with 1 of 52, you can do it!

He did what?
Monday we still were recovering from a major snowstorm and blizzard that hit us. No out of town busses were running so that meant…… snow day!
We got together with some of our friends and hit our favorite sledding hill. I need to do a post just on this hill but for now let me tell you about my Little Man. He and I did several runs together and he will have to take care of me when I’m old and gray because hauling him back up that hill was no easy task. But as I looked at him I noticed he was looking drowsy. We we’re coming up the hill and he was completely slumped over himself.
He fell asleep while we were SLEDDING! Good grief! He won’t take a nap anymore but he can fall asleep while sledding.
The other kids wanted the big sled so I moved him to this small sled and he never budged. Notice that hill… at one point he started to slide down it…..
Aaaaggghhhhh! Phew, I grabbed the sled before he took another ride down the hill. Not that that would have bothered him or woke him from his slumber.
After a bit it was time to get going. I pulled him in the sled to my suburban. He never woke. I put him in the suburban while still on the sled…
And he still never woke. So I took him home and put him to bed…….
And he still never woke……
I pulled off his hat, removed his gloves, zipped open his coat and his snow suit….
And he still never woke.
In fact, it’s the best nap he’s had in weeks.
I guess we’re going sledding for his next nap!

Gross or cool?
Introducing my resident Flicker. A Flicker is a large woodpecker and I just love it when he comes to visit. He likes to eat breakfast, lunch and his afternoon snack here. I caught him enjoying some crabapples that never fell from the tree. Lucky for him. And lucky for me too, I love taking his picture. But what I really wanted to show you was his tongue…
Check it out. Isn’t that something! I guess those were some delicious crab apples! Maybe I should set out some napkins for him.

Friday Photo Flashback ~ 6 years ago today
His birthday was a planned c-section for the 23rd. We went to the hospital on the 21st to look around and see the digs. Well we ran into my doctor there and Lineman blurts out, “hey, we’re all here right now lets just do it now!”. She replies, “well I can’t today but tomorrow morning is free, how would that be?” I was a nervous wreck but it was just such a wonderful place to have a baby!
He was born in a small northeast Montana town. Before he was born it has been 6 days since a baby had been born there. It wasn’t until 3 days later that another baby was born. So you can imagine we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. The nurse, Joyce, was amazing. It was such an amazing and wonderful time. And the last 6 years have just gone by so fast. So many incredible moments. So many frustrations too, don’t get me wrong, LOL! I don’t call him Wild Child for nothing.
Happy Birthday Colter! I love you!

Shoot Me! 3 of 52
These were taken at our skating rink. Lineman is there in the picture too, he is our personal Zambonie on his 4-wheeler plowing off the snow.

Busy as a …. squirrel
I’ve been busy busy lately, but really what mom isn’t! I now watch a little boy on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so these days are certainly non stop now. Top it off and my 2 year old thinks he doesn’t need a nap. Isn’t there something terribly wrong with that picture?
And about this squirrel, isn’t he just the cutest. As long as he stays away from my bird feeders he is welcome to stay. If not…… I’m getting out the BB gun. I kid, I kid. I’ll have my oldest son do it. Oh, I kid. Maybe.

Away Games
Saturday it was an early morning as we got up early and made our way to Havre, about 3 hours away. Each of the boys had double header games. We were all excited for the first away game and a change of scenery.
This is looking back over our shoulder as the sun began to rise behind us.
The snow and the pink clouds made getting up early on the weekend worth it.
We passed many neat old buildings. We never did slow down so I had to be quick with the camera!
I love these old elevators up here on the “high line”.
We got to the rink with plenty of time to get the kids ready and have some ice time before the start. We are the black and red team, Go Ice Dawgs!!!
They played half ice games at the same time, so we were watching two games simultaneously. That’s our middle boy in the red helmet in the center.
Our oldest son going 3 on 1. You can do it!
Our middle son again, he had a really great game. It was pretty high scoring on the Ice Dawgs side.
He really took to playing another team, I think he is a bit competitive.
Our older son had a great game too. He had several great moves and we were super proud of him. Check out his socks there. We really do have matching socks for him, but ever since he saw the varsity team play with different socks he hasn’t matched since.
Our middle boy here. The game had it’s minor take downs even though they can’t check at this age group.
All in all is was an awesome experience for our very first out of town game. Lineman’s parents met us in Havre so we got to see them also! We had lunch with them in between the two double header games. Then after the games we did a little shopping. It was funny because we ran into many people from our hockey team. Everyone was anxious to do some shopping since we were all out of or little town for the day.
I can’t wait to do it all again!

Shoot Me! 2 of 52
Luckily we have outdoor ice very, very close to our house. As in so close I can just about toss a kid out the window and they'd land on the rink. It’s great for a quick pick up game of hockey or just having fun.
And check this out... Maxine, over at Our Space the J's put together the most incredible book from all of her 52 Weeks pictures from 2009. Please go check it out here and see how wonderful it is! She put it to music and it's seriously enough to make you cry. I had no idea when I started this meme that it would touch so many. The book she created I know will be treasured for generations. So keep up with this great challenge, you and your family will be glad you did!
Shoot Me! Post a picture of YOU (yes YOU) with a child, spouse, friend or even by yourself every Thursday. You'll be glad you did!

Minus 30
I think I’m ready for it to warm up a bit around here. The kids got mad at me because I wouldn’t let them go sledding. I know, I’m such a mean mom! I don’t them them play outside when it’s below zero. How could I be so cruel? By the way, that temp was the actual temp not including wind chill, which can push it down much further (-40 to –50).
It’s suppose to warm up in a few days, I’m ready to to see numbers on the thermometer that don’t have that little minus sign in front of them. And to send those kids outside!

Friday Photo Flashback ~ Skiing
I have no idea how old I am here, maybe 5? My folks had me on skis at age 2 and riding the lift at 3. I guess you could say it was in my blood early. I have so many great memories. Though I haven’t been skiing in 9 years now. Bummer.
Hey check out those awesome skis and bindings. You know those bindings! The ones that were attached to our legs so we wouldn’t lose them. The ones that were attached to our legs so when we crashed they flailed around us threatening concussion the whole way. Man I miss those bindings.
A few memories that stand out are tree skiing with my big brother, oh SO much fun. I can picture being with him and doing my best to follow, it’s still just as clear as day.
Another was when I was very young I sat down into the chair lift but it was really bumpy as it got going. It bumped and jumped so hard it threw me right out of the chair. My mom grabbed my arm at the last minute. So there we are, she’s hanging on for dear life to her little girl and I’m just dangling there. They stop the lift before our chair makes it to the first pole. I don’t know how high we were but they were yelling at my mom to drop me. She’s yelling back Noooooo! Finally I guess she dropped me and I landed on my head. I kid! I kid! I was just fine.
