pneumonia

Colter sick

Our middle son, Colter, has been having a very rough winter. It seems like he has been sick every other week. Well turns out he has pneumonia in both lungs with a plate of bronchitis on the side.

The doctor called me on my way home from the office to confirm his suspicions that he did in fact have pneumonia. We will have to go back in for steroids if he doesn’t improve with the meds we were given to treat the bronchitis.

I’m a bit frustrated with myself as well as the doctors we’ve seen. Colter has been “off” most of the winter. The last time we went in they said he had sinusitis and that was the cause of the coughing. Looking back now, I’m sure this entire time he has been struggling with pneumonia and his little body has just been fighting so hard. Well, at least now we know and we can deal with it the best we can.

The poor little fella. He tugs on my heart strings. He has been such a goer and a doer all winter in spite of feeling so crummy so much of the time. Get well quickly Mr. Colt the Bolt!

Hope he feels better fast. We've been having a rough week down here too. (what makes it rougher is we're away from home :( walk-in clinics and prescriptions are such a bla$$$T!
It's no fun when kiddos are sick.

Oh, my! Feelin' for ya. Philip had the same problem the year he started school and the next year too. I finally broke down and got him the flu shot - he has asthma too so makes more susceptible to all the bugs. Hope they get him well so it doesn't wear him completely out! Keep us posted!

Carin,

I saw this last night before I went to bed but hubby was ready to go up so I didn't take time to leave a comment. I am so very sorry to hear your little guy was so sick. I wanted you to know that we are praying for him. Be sure not to beat yourself up over it. That is so easy for us moms to do and really we are just human. In God's time you found the problem and you are working to help him get well. Leave it at that and save your energy for the things you can control.

Hugs,

Kat
