Does it get any better than....

..... being married to your best friend?
And he is a good dad? And he is handsome? And we have beautiful children together?

No, it just doesn't get any better than that.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

That is the question we ask our boys every so often. They both always give the same answer: The oldest used to say he wanted to be an ambulance man, now his answer has progressed to a paramedic. The middle punk has always said he wants to be a power line man, just like his Dad. Not a lineman, but a Power Line Man... emphasis on the man. It is so cute to listen to him. Every time we drive by a substation he always yells out "That's where Dad works". I have taken our boys to see their Dad at work lots of times. They have even seen helicopters at work with the linemen.

Well, enough about that. All this thinking about my middle punk being a lineman, oh sorry, a Power Line Man has got me thinking about this video on YouTube. Strange how this is something that would have us screeming in our nightmares and yet for these guys it's second nature. The sound is a little quiet so you'll need to turn your sound up a bit probably.

Workin' Boys

With all the work that is required to get this garage finished it was apparent an extra hand is needed. My oldest punk fit the bill just right. He loves helping his Dad anyway so this was a great opportunity for them to work together. My oldest boy grabbed for his motocross gloves and crawled right up in the lift. He was running the controls of the lift like an expert. Half the time when I ran the control I went the opposite way I had planned. I wanted to go forward but went backward. Then I would want to go backward and I'd go forward. Apparently there is no need for me to give lessons to my boy on this.
He just jumps right in there, helping his Dad.
Boards for the soffits, nails, run the equipment.... no problem for this boy.
Hey, Dad, are you sure thats the right angle for the board you're placing. Maybe you want me to show you how to do it? If you want to hold this piece of wood I could go ahead and get that part done. Oh, hand me the nailer while you're at it.
Oh, okay, I guess I'll just hold this wood for you instead. But hey, I'm right here for ya Dad. Hey, lets put the shingles and siding on while were at it......

Mythical Creatures

A mermaid.

The Loch Ness Monster.

A yeti.

Big Foot.

Hubby. Oh wait! Nevermind!

The boys and I all enjoyed having the boss around for the weekend. Oh, wait. The boss has always been here. The better half? Nope, still here. Oh, you get the idea. Here are some pics from this weekend.

Poor guy drove ALL NIGHT LONG to get home. I think he got home when most farmers are just getting their coffee poured. Love this pic. A sleepless night makes for a perfect nap!

Awwww... time with the little man!Is there any boy out there that doesn't want to oil their boots up. The boys asked all week if they could do this. No siree. Not with me. "Just you wait until your father comes home!"
Yes, that's a fire extinguisher.... Hey our fire district is way far away. Worse than that? Their fire truck is so old it can barely make it up one of the hills standing in the way to our house. Why is the extinguisher in the living room? No clue, except that I do have all boys. Can that be my explanation for every weird thing that happens around here???
