Ready or not

Or should I say “Like it or not”?

Our Little Man decided he would start crawling out of his crib. Oh great, just what we need. He had been crawling out for several weeks and we talked about getting him a bed. Though I REALLY wished he would just stay in the crib. He just turned two, what’s the rush?

Well, Lineman was listening to tradio when he heard about a bed. BTW, tradio is like classifieds on the radio if you were wondering. Is it a small town thing, I don’t know.

So, he heard there was a car bed for 40 bucks. He gave the guy a call and asked what he wanted for the bed. The guy says, “ah, you can just have it.”

A little cleaning and here is what we got for our car addict son….

December 357

A new blue car.

December 358 A happy boy!

December 360 A boy with Banana (the monkey).

December 387 I’d say the car was a hit!

All I have to do now is figure out how to get him to sleep without 50 matchbox cars in bed with him. No joke!

Ice Ice Baby

When our Little Man turned two we got him a sweet new pair of hockey skates.   I wish you could see just how stinkin’ cute and small these things are.December 323First it was practicing at home, just walking around on the carpet.  He loved this part.  He probably walked around for half an hour.

December 326 When we got to the rink he was so excited, okay, so was I!  After we got everyone all laced up it was time to hit the ice.

December 329  Is that just so cute or what!

December 331 It was not easy at first.  We tried to help him hold on to the skate helpers.  Then Lineman took him around without the helper.  Nothing like torturing your back.

December 330

Another attempt with the skate helper and it wasn’t going all that easy.  So we decided to take a little break.

After a short break I took Little Man back out there and just let him stand.  Then we got the skate helper and……

December 336 He figured out what it was about!  I’m not saying he was going great guns, but he figured it out.  He could push himself around and I was truly shocked!

December 338 Look Ma, no Dad hands!

December 341 Only one year after learning how to walk he is figuring out how to make his way on the ice.  And in the mean time I can’t get over how stinkin’ cute those teeny tiny skates are.

A little boy… A little bokeh

Bo Bokeh This little guy has been going non stop lately.  It’s tough to even snap a picture of him these days!

I went to check on him before I went to bed last night.  As my eyes adjusted to the dark room I noticed he looked a bit different in bed.  Hmm, a close inspection would reveal he stripped off his clothes before falling asleep.  He opted to leave the diaper on thank goodness!  I let him sleep that way.  I’m afraid to check this morning…  what if the diaper is no longer in place?  Aggghhhh, I shudder to think.

Excuse me, I’m going to go peek in his room now!

Evergreen

Evergreen....

Jolly Green Giant...

Green green grass of home...

Green backs...

Go green...

Green and Gold...

Hmm, sense a theme going on here? I just got back from a trip I took to the big town. Time for major supplies and shopping. Thank goodness for a Suburban. I even had a prehung door in there!

So, after driving nearly 5 hours in negative temps and snow we were about 10 miles from being home when I hear Little Man shaking what sounds like my gum. I asked my middle son how he got the gum and he said he put my purse in the middle seat. Urg. Well I asked him to get the gum away from his brother. I turned on the light for him and I hear him shout....

"Ahh, he is GREEN!"

"What?" I say.

"He is green."

"WHAT are you talking about?" I say, getting impatient.

"His hands are green, his face is green."

"WHAT?!"

"Mom, this toy is green and these straws are green. Everything is GREEN"

"OH NO!!!!!!" I say as I put the pieces together.....

Earlier in the day I had gone shopping for a small container of craft paint at Micheals. After I checked out I said no bag was necessary, I'd just pop it in my purse.

My purse.

Little Man had my purse for how many miles????

He had green on his hands, green on his cheeks, green all over his sweetshirt, green on the carseat... and green on the seat.

I would have gotten pictures to share but after driving in such horrible and stressful conditions, it wasn't the best way to end a trip.

But don't worry. No one is green any more!

My Three Sons

Kids 1

All I can say is that I am one lucky mom to be raising these boys.  And  am one blessed mom that my husband allows me to stay home and raise these little balls of energy.

A little bit of everything

When I look into his eyes I see so many things.   Bokeh Boy Curiosity.  Joy.  Love.  Wonder.  Amazement.   Sneakiness.  Playfulness.  Orneriness.  Sweetness.  Strength. Softness.  Inquisitive.

I’m thankful for this little guy!

My Little Man

I went to the park the other day with my Little Man. We played chase, went down the slide a bajillion times and played hide and seek. I managed to take a few pictures. These are just some of my favorites.

Brothers & bows

The boys made a ton of bows when we were at my moms. They went through a ton of string and cleaned up a few branches in the process.

July_0165

I love to see when my boys are kind to each other. My oldest was making a bow for his little brother. It was so cute to watch them interact. And yes, his tongue is always busy when he is working on a project.

My boys sitting quietly… ahh, I could get used to this.

These are the sweet memories I’ll treasure. Hopefully they’ll block out all the arguing later. Please tell me your kids argue too.

Top Heavy

Well, I am finally back after my blogging break. I think this has got to be the busiest few months in my entire life. We are back home from our trip and the only boxes left to unpack from our recent move are those in the basement. And they can wait!

I took about a thousand pictures on our trip to Disneyland and to see family. I had my dad burn them all to a DVD for me and I erased my card. Then I traveled back to MT and stayed with my mom for a bit…. where I left my DVD from the trip. Oops! So Disney pictures will have to wait.

We decided it was high time to get those bikes back out now that we are settling in to our new home. Each of the boys couldn’t wait to get on their bikes. They went up and down the dirt roads then tore it up in Gramma’s pasture.

Then my Wild Child figured that Little Man is getting old enough and he put his gear on the little guy.

Top Heavy 1Oh, Little Man just ate it up. He has been watching his brothers ride motocross since he could roll over. He wants to ride on any bike at any time. In fact, his new word is “ride”. Appropriate.

Tope Heavy 2He got all the gear on and walked around a bit, probably searching for a bike he could ride. Side Note: Are those the cutest W’s or what?

Top Heavy 3He was pretty happy, but I could tell he might me just a tad bit top heavy with that big ol’ helmet…

Top Heavy 4And then he went down. I laughed and laughed. What a trooper though, he pulled himself back up, helmet and all.

Next week: Kick starting. Ah, just kidding.

Batter up!

Do kids learn what they see? You bet! Take this little scenario for example. He marched right on in there. Grabbed a helmet, then a bat and then a ball.
"Come on! Come on guys! Give me 5! Heads up here! Everyone get their game faces on! Hey, who's on deck here? Let's go now!!!!!"

"That's it, I'm taking matter's into my own hands now. I'm heading out there and show these boys how you really do it."
Anyone think he's ready to play baseball?

Dizzy

I took the kids fishing and to the park early Saturday morning. We were out the door by 8:30. Why on earth am I telling you this? Because I am NOT a morning person. But I was determined to get out of this house. So I was out at 8:30... not too shabby for me on a weekend! The kids had a blast the whole time. I packed a picnic lunch that we had at the park.
I had to try my hand at getting some meri-go-round pictures. I had fun snapping away but let me tell you.... I HATE this piece of playground equipment. There is nothing that will get me sick faster than spinning around in a circle. Apparently my middle son feels the same way, he didn't even want to get near it!

LM & LM

That is, a little more Lineman and Little Man!
This was another day of fishing again! I love to see this man with my boys. My heart goes crazy and there's a smile on my face.

All to himself

When Lineman makes it home there is a universal want among the boys. They want their dad all them themselves. Hey, I don't blame them. Mom gets pretty boring all week! When it comes to wanting dad all to himself, Little Man is no exception. In fact of all three boys he is the one who makes his wants known very clear.
Fishing last weekend he was content to just sit right by his dad. To be just like him. To mimic everything he did.

Just like dad.

He'll do anything he can to get dad all to himself!

I ♥ Faces - Laughter

This weeks theme is "laughter" over at I Heart Faces.

This Little Man isn't one to normally break out into hysterics. It can be done with lots of work though. He was out splasing in puddles and he was laughing because he thought he was going to get in trouble for it. Typical boy.... pushing mom any way he thinks he can!

You can see more great faces by clicking here at I Heart Faces.

My Baby

My Little Man is starting to become more independent. More assertive. More ornery. More smiley. More laughs. More stubborn. More communicative. More kissey. More running. More non-stop action.

The days are long but the years are short. I hope to not take these things for granted.
