Here I am at about 16 years old. I look back at this picture and I can just see and feel the contentedness….
I have always preferred to ride bareback. It’s just so natural and perfect. Being one with this amazing animal, full of power, that incredible horse smell.
It’s hard to top in my book.

i have never rode a horse.. and i'm married to an ex-rodeo/ranch cowboy, who still carries on the cowboy ways just without a horse now. There's NO doubt in my mind or his, we'll have horses in the near future. But I want to KNOW this feeling your talking about. Not just admire it thru your pics!
