The game they play......
"Tell me when it hurts"
Can this end well?

There is my mom with Little Man. She's funny and nice and smart... and skinny, some things just aren't fair!
Okay, you see this picture? This is basically how they looked her entire visit. Little Man figured out that if he held on to those hands and started walking she would be forced to keep him going. One night they did about a half marathon in our house. Makes my back hurt just thinking about it.

The is how my day started a few mornings ago.......
The Little Man woke me up at 4:30 for a bottle, I begrudgingly got out of bed to give him his bottle. I brought him to bed with me for his bottle fully intending (maybe) on taking him back to his crib when he finished his early morning gourmet meal. Let's face it though, I'm sleep deprived so I ended up falling asleep with Little Man laying right next to me. It is so precious to sleep next to a little baby. But trust me... the preciousness is going to abruptly end.
As dawn neared so did my disgusting awakening.....
Little Man began to stir. I was midly awake but not ready for the day that lay ahead of me. Little Man woke up, got on all fours and crawled a few steps to greet me for the day. Oh that precious child of mine. I guess he wanted to show me a little love - in a way that only a 10 month old can. I was still relishing the feel of my pillow on my cheek when he crawled to me, put one hand on my pillow and one hand on my shoulder. Then I heard it.... a burp. Not just a burp though.... spit up, lots and lots of spit up. I guess we could call it a morning facial.
Thank you, son. I love you.

It was off to swimming lessons next and we had quite the driver. Hey, in the country you gotta start the kids young!

They are racing to get to the top first. But what's this I see? I think Lineman should be disqualified for going out in the pasture. Hey, you're racing a 7 year old kid, no cheating!

Apparently there must have been at least a few times I got a little air. And by little, I do mean little. This time I think I may have actually been able to clear a turtle with the hiccups.
Even though I didn't get too high it sure was a lot of fun just trying. The weather was pretty nice and it was just fun playing together as a family. Our oldest boy was giving it a try but wasn't having any luck. Really I wasn't having any luck either, I think these pictures all must be an optical illusion.
Optical illusion or not it was fun just giving it a try. Wether we're 7 or 70 we need to keep getting out there and trying new things. Wheelies - Check. Skydiving - Next

I think he would have preferred the power of his bike over mine for the wheelies but he sure was fun to watch. The oldest boy came over to watch and get a few lessons on how to do a wheelie. He tried and tried but couldn't quite get the hang of it. I'm sure in a few years he will be doing them and I'll be wishing he didn't know how. Then I'll yell at Lineman for teaching his kids how to do wheelies.
The kids weren't the only ones getting lessons on how to do a wheelie....
More pictures coming tomorrow - I wonder who else could have given it a try???

Oh! This waiting is just driving me crazy! I don't know how much longer I can wait.
Oh well then, I guess I might as well relax a bit longer...............

These pictures were taken for wonderful friends of ours. This baby is their fourth child. They are such wonderful, loving parents and their children are all so fantastic. Unfortunately we don't live very close to each other but when we do get together we always have fun and the kids hate to leave. Thanks for letting me take your baby's pictures.

Well, we didn't get near the storm they got up north in Montana but we did get some weather. Friday night it started to mist and there was a dense fog. By the time I awoke in the morning everything was iced over. The trees looked pitiful as they mourned the burden of the heavy weight of the ice. The limped over as if almost ready to admit defeat.
The beauty was bountiful however. Spiderwebs turned into works of art. It's occupant long gone in search of a warmer home for the winter.
The pines refused to fall victim to the weight of the ice. They instead stood tall in their beauty but beckoning the sun to show itself.
By Sunday the ice was abundant and we only had about an inch of snow. The roads were icy as proved by the skid marks going off of our road (not made by me). By the afternoon temps rose enough for the ice to start cracking and breaking off the limbs of the aspens. They began to stand tall once again. Now it's time for a few days of Indian Summer. Time to enjoy our days before we are to become the hermits of winter.

Yup, there they are. There were hundreds and hundreds of geese that flew right near the house. *shiver* (I think I need some slippers).
So while these geese fly south for the winter we are still here. Awaiting the propane truck to show up *wiping tears off keyboard*.
You know, all this talk about winter FASTLY approaching has me thinking that I should be just like a bear. Yup, that's it. I'm going back to bed. See you in the spring.

Here is Jill, showing us how you do it! She is a blast to play with and plays really great. There are no pictures of me on the greens for this reason: I putt past the hole. Go back the other way, past the hole. Then back the other way, past the hole. And so on. So let's just look at Jill and her 30 foot putts. It's just not fair. The two of us getting ready to try to hit some antelope. Um, I mean, the two of us getting ready to try to get it on the green.
I cannot tell you just what today meant to me. I feel so refreshed. I feel like I have more energy. I feel like if I try hard enough I just might actually hit an antelope. I feel like a better mom. I feel like I could putt 20 feet, scratch that, I feel like I could putt 20 inches. I feel like it was an absolute great day.

These were all taken up in the mountains near us. I was looking for a great place to do a fall shoot. I would say it looks like we found it. Would you agree?

When I was in High School I was very involved in FFA. I think it must have been my Junior year that I had veal calves as one of my projects. I had a pair of them that I got from our favorite dairy in the area. We brought them home and thought about what to name them. I finally came up with names to suite them: The first one I named Poncho Veal-a and so I named the other one Lefty to go with. I can fondly remember the smell of milk replacer that I would feed to them. Man I loved those two animals!
Now when Poncho and Lefty come up on my music player maybe you'll think of two cute veal calves instead of two outlaws.

We took off in search of some great fall foliage and a photo shoot location. There were some beautiful colors and it was just what I needed to drive around in such a relaxing place.
We found a nice little place where the aspens had turned yellow, there were a few large boulders and several large rocks. We did a mini photoshoot and then the boys explored for a bit. Then I put half of the gas can in so I wouldn't have to worry the whole way home.
The boys just had so much fun, we will probably head back again when weather permits so the boys can go hiking up there again.

Here's a little trivia for you. Lineman and I were actually married in a one room school house. Ah, the memories. Boy I've had to put up with a lot since then. I kid, I kid.

Anyone care to leave a comment on what you think some of these tracks are from? You can do it! Just take a few guesses.

There isn't anything about being a lineman to be afraid of but there are two things that you gotta remember and live by if you wanna do this work.....#1. Gravity stinks#2. It ain't the fall, it is the sudden stop that will get you everytime.
And in the spirit of his funny comment, here is something fo you to watch and maybe laugh at.
One thing I laugh at is the guys name appears to be "Goo". He is doing a pole top rescue. All lineman have to do this to prepare for a real incident. They are timed as well, that's why you'll hear people shouting "Come on, Goo"
And yes, he probably did get hurt. And no, we don't know him.

I believe him too. Later that day we were outside while I stained the fence. I look over and he had found a way to climb to the top of a shed out back.
He walked around up there for about 20 minutes.
Afraid of heights? I don't think so.
A thrill seeker? Probably.
Cut out to be a lineman? Definitely
